Meet our Teachers

photo Alexandra Andrews

Alex has been playing the flute and teaching music since she was in high school. Inspired by attending Music Together® classes with her children since 1997, she trained as a Music Together teacher in 1999 with Music Together founder Dr. Lili Levinowitz. In July 2003 she was awarded the Music Together Certification I designation, recognizing her experience and expertise with the curriculum and completion of advanced level training. She is past member of the Board of Directors of the Hudson Area Arts Alliance, and currently serves as Treasurer of the Hudson Cultural Council. Since 2002, Alex has taught flute lessons in the Arts Alliance after-school music lesson program as well as guitar classes. In April 2007, she was elected to the Music Together Directors Leadership Group. She has a BA in Human Development from Colby College, and developed and taught a music theory curriculum as part of an accelerated middle school program in coastal Maine. When she's not teaching and trying to keep up with the journal articles she receives from the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association, and Children's Music Network, she likes to try out new recipes, plays flute in the Lincoln-Sudbury Civic Orchestra, and tries to keep her garden weeded and her houseplants watered.

photo Gina Cranford

Gina began her musical career with piano lessons at age 5. The excellent choral music program in the Northborough Public Schools laid the foundation for a lifetime of singing. Gina has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education from the University of Connecticut. She taught middle and high school choirs for 10 years, most recently at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough. She fell in love with Music Together while enjoying the classes with her two sons and realized that this was the perfect next step in her musical journey. Gina enjoys singing and playing with her children, eating great food prepared by her husband, yoga, and traveling. She hopes someday to be able to play the "Hello" song on the guitar, but thinks it may be a little late to teach a new trick to an old(er) dog.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and also loves the field of music. Some of her happiest memories include listening to her father singing show tunes while cooking breakfast. Michelle has been involved in music since first taking piano lessons at age 5. She has also studied flute and piccolo, and quite brilliantly snapped her piccolo in half while branching out into percussion at a high school football game. Michelle has also been a member of several choirs, and directed the children's choir at her church for several years. Michelle's love of music introduced her to Music Together as a parent in 2002, which inspired her to train and become a registered Music Together teacher in 2003. In July 2010 she was awarded the Music Together Certification I designation, training with Music Together Founder Dr. Lili Levinowitz. Michelle is the lucky mother of 3 fantastic children, and is attempting to teach herself the guitar. Michelle also takes African drumming lessons and is passionate about world music.
