Mixed Age (0-6)

Newborns through kindergarten with parent or caregiver (newborns to age 6). Today's leading child development researchers recommend mixed-age groupings because they foster a more natural learning setting in which the parent/caregiver plays an important role. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating the older ones, older children learn by leading the younger ones, and nobody's left at home with the babysitter. Every child participates at his or her own level in many different areas: singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Babies love watching the older kids and dancing with mom or dad. Older children thrive in an environment that supports their musical creativity. Classes include a variety of stimulating and fun adult-child activities, offering new ways to play musically at home. Any caregiver can bring the child or children: nanny, grandparent, babysitter, or parents. The whole family is welcome for this essential family music experience.

Newborn (0-advanced crawling or mobility)

Newborns through advanced crawling or mobility: This class is great way to enhance the bonding between parent/caregiver and child through music. In addition to the traditional Music Together singing and movement activities, more class time is devoted to discussing how babies learn music and how to support your baby's musical development. Activities focus on basic tonality, stimulating your baby rhythmically, and dancing for and with your baby. For newborns through advanced crawling or mobility only. Classes include a variety of stimulating and fun adult-infant activities, offering new ways to play musically at home. Any caregiver can bring infant: nanny, grandparent, babysitter, or parents.

Rhythm Kids® Level 2

Rhythm KidsTM
Rhythm Kids® Level 2 is an exciting music, movement, and drumming class for children in Kindergarten through second grade (ages 5–8). Children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives, as they:
1) learn multicultural drumming patterns
2) explore their musical creativity by composing rhythms, song lyrics, dance steps, and game rules
3) experience playing in an ensemble - the precursor to playing in a band, singing in a choir, or participating in any musical group
4) explore movement and dance while singing songs
5) play games based on music and drumming
6) develop new repertoire on various percussion instruments
Rhythm Kids® Level 2 follows through on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age eight. A special part of the Rhythm Kids® class experience is the play-along videos and other materials available online. With the help of a grownup, as needed, children can have drumming play and practice sessions with Rhythm Kids® creator Tom Foote himself!

Rhythm Kids® Camp

Rhythm Kids® camp is a 4 day, 8 hour camp perfect for any young musician Kindergarten and older who loves to make music, enjoys art, and wants to learn about animals and different parts of our world. Each summer, camp will concentrate on one of the Rhythm Kids® collections and explore drumming, music, and culture from the area of the world from where the drumming patterns are inspired. Children will create art related to the animal which may include a mask, costume or figurine. Children will also learn how to create a simple instrument inspired by the music of the collection. Please send children in with a snack and drink, and a drum if they own one, preferably a djembe.
